saajtak released Hectic EP in June of 2018. The physical release took shape as an art booklet, featuring some of my drawings along with the artwork and design of keyboardist Simon Alexander-Adams. The two songs on the EP, Hectic and If You Ask, continue saajtak's compositional exploration of long song forms, but carve out some of the group's most accessible spaces yet. 

saajtak has a busy fall of 2018, and will be releasing a number of live videos, playing the closing set at New Music Detroit's Strange Beautiful Music marathon, and touring out the the east coast in support of the new EP.

I'm extremely honored to have been chosen to write a piece for the Detroit Composers Project.

My piece, self, a solo piece written for pianist Sonya Belaya will be performed alongside compositions by the excellent Molly Jones and others twice this fall: at the Detroit Institute of Arts on September 9th, as well as at the Detroit Symphony Orchestra's Cube space as a part of the Strange Beautiful Music marathon on September 15th.
